1.2 Specific Roles

Editor-in-Chief

  • Provides strategic leadership and academic direction to the journal.

  • Oversees editorial policy implementation and final publication decisions.

  • Ensures adherence to ethical and publishing standards.

  • Represents the journal in academic and professional forums.

Associate Editors

  • Manage the peer review process for assigned manuscripts.

  • Select and invite qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.

  • Make preliminary editorial decisions (accept, revise, reject) and submit recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief.

Editorial Board Members

  • Support peer review activities.

  • Provide subject-matter expertise and strategic advice on journal development.

  • Promote the journal within academic and research communities.

Editorial Assistants

  • Manage administrative workflows, manuscript tracking, and correspondence.

  • Coordinate communication among authors, reviewers, and editors.

  • Maintain accurate editorial and publication records.

Reviewers

  • Provide objective, confidential, and timely reviews.

  • Evaluate manuscripts based on scholarly merit, methodological soundness, originality, clarity, and contribution to the field.

  • Declare any conflicts of interest prior to accepting review assignments.


2. Appointment and Governance

2.1 Appointment of Editorial Team

  • Editorial team members are appointed by the Advisory Board of ASES.

2.2 Appointment of the Editor-in-Chief
